FAQ
How often should I come for a checkup?
Most patients come every 3 to 6 months. If you have gum disease, implants or braces, or tend to build up tartar quickly, we may suggest coming more often.
Can I use Japanese national health insurance for cleaning?
Yes. Cleaning can be done under national health insurance, so please bring your insurance card. Under insurance rules, cleaning may be split over several visits. PMTC professional cleaning and AirFlow polishing are not covered by national health insurance. They are private (self-pay) treatment and are done in one visit.
Does cleaning hurt?
Most patients feel little or no pain. If your gums are inflamed or your teeth are sensitive, some areas may feel uncomfortable, so let us know and we will go gently or take breaks.
